Andrew Antonopoulos
President
Andrew Antonopoulos is a tax lawyer located on the Gold Coast who was mentored by former Mayor and State MP, Lex Bell. His clients include some of the city’s leading businesses who he has assisted through various ventures and helped implement numerous growth strategies. Currently, Andrew is the President of the Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth.
Andrew was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He studied Political Science after school before working in the European Parliament in Brussels. He later studied law at Bond University. What Andrew brings to the organisation is his education and knowledge, but also his youth and his contacts.
“In my life I see both extremes of the Gold Coast," says Andrew. "Through my work as a tax lawyer I see that side of town. It’s very easy to ignore the other side but I think we still have time to rehabilitate youngsters coming through and create a longer life, a successful life.”
Angela Sheeran
General Manager
Angela Sheeran is committed to improving the lives of Homeless Youth in Southeast Queensland. A combination of early intervention, resilience development, and exploring managing mental health and drug and alcohol use, together assist in empowering young people to achieve independence, and gain access to employment and housing. Angela understands the importance of accessible and affordable housing to provide a stable platform to improve the lives, social cohesion and independence of young people.
Angela’s leadership roles in the social welfare and community services sector have been extensive. Her experience is predominately in community mental health, and building and developing community programs, support and services. Organisations include UnitingCare Prahran Mission, Mind Australia, Lantern, and Reachout Southern Mental Health in Southeast Victoria, where she has received recognition for her commitment to establishing and delivering quality psychosocial programs. Angela is interested in exploring collaborative projects in this new role with Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth.
Angela has an academic background in BA Social Science – Welfare and has completed training in management & leadership, mental health, counselling, community services, youth work, training & assessment and critical incident debriefing.
