Our Mission
Our goals are to reduce the cycle of homelessness, provide a service which is quality assured, offer a diversity of services with a holistic view to optimise client outcomes, be adequately resourced to facilitate optimisation of client outcomes and empower young people to lead safe and healthy lifestyles by making informed decisions.
Our Philosophy
Youth Outreach believes in the right of people to make choices in their own lives. The right of people to dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality. The right of people to be valued as individuals. The right of people to access services on a non-discriminatory basis. The right of the community to accountable and responsive services.
Changing Lives
The Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth Inc. (GCPHY) is a charity with a purpose. We support change in the lives of young people by developing initiatives that provide opportunities that assist them to move towards independence.
We believe that one path doesn’t determine your direction and have been supporting young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness on the Gold Coast for over 40 years. We have an experienced understanding of the needs of young people and the support required to create pathways to new beginnings.
Work skills traineeships provide paid employment opportunities through funding from the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. Skilling Queenslanders for Work funds not-for-profit community based organisations to deliver projects that respond to the needs of local job seekers and employment opportunities in their area.
This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
We thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to improving the lives of young people on the Gold Coast. We believe that all young people should have a safe and secure home. We work with young people at each stage of their housing journey through supportive case management and innovative programs. Support extends across immediate, transitional, semi-transitional, and community housing opportunities. We need your help, you can support us by:
Financial Donations
There is a serious shortage of beds and quality housing for homeless youth on the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth uses donations to help provide the best possible outcomes for the young people in our care. We are endorsed by the ATO-DGR1 status. Donations over $2 are tax deductable.
Material Donations
We do gratefully accept gifts that would benefit a teenager 16-19 years and/or a young family. If you wish to match your gift to a young family's ages, contact us at administration 07 5591 3746. We also accept food items for a Christmas lunch/dinner. You can also contribute through Give Now.
Our priority as a service is to support our young people. As such, we appreciate donations that can be dropped to our administration office. We do not do same-day pick up of donated items. Please call to discuss your donation and we will be happy to offer advice on the service most in need of your item/s.
