2026 Skilling Queenslanders for Work Graduation
Celebrating Success
Thursday the 28th of May we proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of our 2026 Skilling Queenslanders for Work Trainees. 20 weeks ago, 24 trainees enrolled in the HARP - construction industry traineeship or the HERO - hospitality traineeship to explore opportunities, learn skills, build confidence and gain support to assist them to see real change in their lives.
Throughout this journey, the trainees have built essential vocational and employability skills, gained hands-on industry experience, strengthened their confidence and independence, achieved nationally recognised training outcomes and committed to taking steps toward sustainable employment pathways. Many of the trainees are now employed, all trainees have been offered opportunities to consider for employment pathways, whilst others have connected with our Youth Outreach team to gain housing support or connect to additional support to assist with them continuing on their employment journeys. Every milestone reached reflects the dedication of our trainees and the strength of the support network around them.
Thank you to the entire Youth Outreach Team for committing to the program and for supporting the trainees to aspire to want more for themselves and expect more of themselves. Thank you for the dignity, respect and guidance you have provided throughout the program, it’s an outstanding effort.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our incredible partners, employers, trainers, youth workers and community stakeholders. Your commitment, mentorship, and belief in the potential of young people has significantly contributed to making these programs successful.
Together, we are creating real opportunities and lasting change and we thank you for your generosity of spirit.
To our graduates — your hard work and perseverance inspired us all.
